Ben Franklin Middle gained internet access circa 7th grade. Fueled by eager teacher-influencers working with limited resources, I was (as evidence of both the miraculous and serendipitous) thrust into a world HTML backslashes, digital art and animation: if you were to dig deep enough, you might even find my small group’s submissions in an early international website competition (I had much to say on stop motion claymation techniques at the time).
My love of language and design were stoked then, but it was not until I was sent a
ripped
gifted copy of Photoshop, in all her glory, and under the (positive) influence of a group of designers that I met through early editions of online social networks (sketchy, I know – but we are still friends) that I began to explore both my writing (I’ve had a myriad of blogs since I was
a highly emotional
15) and creative sides.
Since then I have had multiple opportunities to grow and experience the highs and lows of having an op-ed column, copywriting, layout, editing and design in multiple formats. Let me know if you’d like a trip down memory road, a formal set of clips, or an exhaustive list of copy work. In the meantime, here are a few samples of my work.
